HONOR GUARD

The Honor Guard at VFW Post 467 are Uniformed VFW Volunteers who selflessly devote time in their lives to honoring and supporting fallen veterans in their community. These volunteers, with solemn respect and unwavering dedication, carry out their duties with great pride and dignity.

One of the most solemn and revered duties these volunteers perform is the salute for deceased veterans during grave-side services. Each time a fallen hero is laid to rest, these volunteers stand in uniform, rifles in hand, ready to pay their respects and honor the deceased with the powerful tradition of a 3 volley salute. It is at this solemn moment that speaks volumes of gratitude for the sacrifice and service of those who had bravely served their country.

Through the past 40 years, these Uniformed VFW Volunteers became an integral part of the community, providing comfort and support to grieving families and veterans. Their presence at these grave-side services brought a sense of honor and respect to the solemn occasion, underscoring the importance of remembering and honoring those who had served their country.
